67, of Dubuque, IA, formerly of Minneapolis, passed away Thursday, September 1, 2011. in Dubuque, following a long illness. services will be at 12:00 p.m. Saturday. September 10, at Hoffmann Schneider & Kitchen Funeral Home and cremation Service,3860 Asbury Rd., Dubuque, IA where friends may call from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Rev. Davld Bloom will officiate. Stephen was born June 10, 1944 ln Minneapolis, son of Harold and Mary Anne (Hitch) Brandt. After his father was killed in WWII. Mary Anne married James Fields, who adopted and raised Stephen. Steve graduated from Southwest High school. Minneapolis. in 1962,and earned his B.A. in English from Macalester college, St. Paul, MN in 1966. He received his secondary Teacher Education at the University of Minnesota. Those left to honor his memory Include his wife, Pamela of Dubuque; two daughters, Jessica Fields and Jennifer (fiancé Dane Hopf) Fields, both of Dubuque; granddaughter, Ella Hopf; brother. James (Tobey) Fields of Mlllvllle, UT: sister, susan (Mark) Vaniman of Germfask, MI: two sisters-in-law, Karla (Jeff) Gunsolus of Maplewood, MN, and Lisa Ingram of Chicago. lL; and nieces and nephews, Matt, Megan, Sarah, Dan, and lan. memorials may be made to the Stephen D.
