Janet Mary Luhman age 67, of Cushing, WI , died of breast cancer onFebruary,28 2012. Preceded in death by her parents, Jane and Fred Luhman. Survived by her brother, Jim (Detta); niece, Lisa (Matt) Bass and nephew, Bryan (Riann) Luhman. Janet graduated from Southwest HS and the University of Minnesota. Janet had careers in teaching, as a small business owner and graphic arts manager. Community volunteer at St. Croix Festival Theatre, SCRMC, Ice Age Trail Alliance and City of Trails SK. Enjoyed hiking, canoeing, camping with friends and being with her beloved animals Sasha, Maggie and Repeat. A celebration of Janet's life will be held March 17, 2012 at 1:30 PM at the Festival Theatre, 210 N Washington Street, St. Croix Falls, WI. Memorials to the lce Age Trail Alliance. St. Croix Festival Theatre and Burnett County Humane Society.

Janet was always so fun and energetic. I am glad she found peace in nature when she moved to the country.

Luhmie was my best friend in high school. We had so much in common I think because we both felt like I outsiders. I remember she was humiliated when well meaning Bill Adam said "Hey Luhman are you going to the Spling Fling". As she told me of course she wasn't going to the Splin Fling. She was really too smart and perceptive to play the role girls were supposed to play back then.
Remember, she almost got married to a guy who just wasn't worthy of her. I only saw her intermittently after high school but I always felt we had strong bond. She was just so so funny and so so kind. My wife I visited her a few times in her house in the wilderness she seemed very happy there. She took care of needy animals that no one else would help.
And did I say she was just so so funny with that crazy laugh. I will miss her forever.
