Fredric Lewis Dautermann, II, 70, of New Cambria, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, March 31st, 2015.

Fred was born in Davenport, Iowa on September 3, 1944, the first son of the late Viola “Evaline” (Willson) and Fredric Lewis Dautermann.

He worked in IT for the Kansas Highway Patrol until his retirement in 2014. Previously he taught computer science at Kansas State Salina, Texas Tech in Lubbock, Texas and Northwest Nazarene College in Nampa, Idaho. He was an admired professor, trusted counselor, wise Sunday School teacher, amateur cellist, dairy goat farmer and generous friend. An active member of First Church of the Nazarene in Salina, Kansas, he was always ready to help load a moving van, engineer a Harvest carnival obstacle course or bring a Double Chocolate Chip cake to a church potluck.

Known by many names including Uncle Fred, Opa Fred, Mr. D and Dad, Fred will be sorely missed by his family: daughter Gretchen Dautermann Gordon of Miami, FL, son Peter Dautermann and his wife Rebecca of Auckland, New Zealand, sisters: Angela Whitaker of Pasadena, California, Rebecca Lamont and her husband Mike of LaVerne, California, Mona Barker and husband Robert of Hannibal, Missouri, Joanne McBeth and husband Rick of Wichita, Kansas, brother Charles Dautermann and wife Sharon of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, grandchildren Sydney Gordon, Wesley Gordon, Ruby Dautermann, Daisy Dautermann and many nieces and nephews.

No visitation will be held as cremation has taken place.

A service will take place at 11:30 am on Saturday the 11th of April at First Church of the Nazarene, Salina Kansas.

Memorial contributions may be made to First Church of the Nazarene or Contact Lubbock Suicide Prevention in care of Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home, 500 S. Ohio, Salina, Kansas 67401.
