Beloved Courtland 'Court' Edward Newman, Jr., 69, passed away in the company of family on February 13, 2014. Born on September 5, 1944 on a Pensacola, FL naval base, Court grew up on Lake Calhoun in Minneapolis, MN.

He and wife, Janice Tyk Newman, lived for most of their 38 years of marriage in Chicago and Hinsdale, IL. Court was a lifelong scholar, earning a BA in History from Lawrence University, a Masters in Health Administration from the University of Minnesota, and an MBA from the University of Chicago. He was dedicated to public service and worked as a hospital administrator in the rehabilitation unit at Oak Forest Hospital for nearly 30 years until retiring to Naples, FL in 2009.

Court's greatest legacy was his love for his family; he was a dedicated and loyal husband, father, son, brother, and grandfather. His grandchildren were the light of his life and brought him great joy in his final months.

Court was preceded in death by his parents, Courtland Edward Newman, Sr. and Alice Park Newman.

We love and miss you, Court.
